Here we cultivate about 150 different species and varieties of plants. We also have contracts with a number of nurseries that specialise in certain sowing and cultivation technologies.
Our main focus lies in the cultivation of pond plants. We also have several large areas for perennials and specialist cultures for green roofs. A wider separation among the plants reduces the risk of infections so far that we operate without the use of chemical pesticides.

Next to the greenhouse building to the left lie many shallow water basins and irrigation areas

The stock of mother plants of many pond plants grows in the nursery as it would in nature.
Various types of underwater plants are extracted from the lake from a customised boat.
In prolonged cold conditions the underwater plants grow very slowly. In those cases we use divers.
The great majority of plants, however, such as these Primroses, are cultivated in special cultures.
Sowed plants grow protected under foil tunnels and are automatically irrigated and fertilised.
Later, many of the plants destined for humid areas stand on irrigation surfaces, such as these Ragged Robins.
The areas with perennials are underlaid with liner. This allows us to recycle the fertilised water.
Typical pond plants stand in shallow water basins. The nets protect against ducks.
Some underwater plants, like these Water Violets, are cultivated in a more stable above water form.
Der Versand der Pflanzen erfolgt in dem Gewächshaus.
Labels with important information are printed for each order.
At the same time the plants are requested from the cultivation grounds.
Underwater plants and Water Lilies meet in a darkened hall with a circulating water basin.
About 20 workers assemble the ordered plants and package them for transport.
The plants are sorted by location and packaged separately.
During the high season 20,000 plants leave the nursery. Over 90% reach their destinations within 20 hours.
Land perennials stand clearly arranged in open air areas next to the greenhouses.
In Spring perennials stand ready to hand on tables. Here visitors can serve themselves.
On the other side of the greenhouse are the quarters with the woody plants.
Additionally, there are special cultures of drought resistant plants which we supply for green roofs.
The plant cultures are automatically irrigated and fertilised through kilometres of pipes.
