NaturaGart-PE Pond Liner |

Pond Liner: NaturaGart PE
Polyethylene (PE) counts as very environmentally friendly. However, its stiffness makes it unsuitable for smaller ponds. Important is also, that in the case of damage, repair is often not possible, so that the liner becomes rubbish. This is definitely a disadvantage.
Polyethylene (PE) liner is blown into a tube shape and then cut open. This makes for wider lanes of material than PVC or EPDM. This saves the cost of having to weld pieces together in smaller ponds. Its high chemical stability is an advantage in waste dips. For ponds, however, this is a disadvantage, because its stability doesn't allow glue to adhere.
|
Butyl rubber adhesive strips shrink more in the cold than the liner itself which often makes them tear off.
Damage to the liner often means a total loss.
Because PE is stiff it is only really suitable for large, geometrically designed shapes, like our Underwater Park.
PE can be welded into asymmetrical shapes in the factory. The cost of this is much higher than for PVC, though, because space, time and labour requirements are much higher. The large width also leads to more cutoff waste. For small ponds we cut the desired measurements off the roll.
